ABOUT AMO

The AMO is a prestigious mathematics olympics that is hosted by Gakken Asia and the Ministry of Japan Education, Sports, Culture and Technology (MEXT).

The Asia Mathematics Olympiad (AMO) is an international competition that has been held every summer since 1991. This competition aims to allow students to reveal and embrace their talent in Mathematics. More than 180,000 students from countries such as Japan, China, Hong Kong and Korea have participated in this competition so far.

The Asia Mathematics Olympiad in South East Asia was held for the first time in 2017.

FOR

Grade 1 to Grade 8
(as per academic year 2023-24)

WHERE

Online from home (not from an examination centre). On desktop/laptop only with webcam for remote proctoring.

WHEN

Competition Date: 25th August, 2024

Registrations are Open Now for Trial Rounds (Country Level Rounds). Online Registrations Only.

Last Date of Registration: 28th July, 2024

Fees: INR 3000 per participant (student)(Students qualifies for final will not charged any fee). Discounts available on multiple competitions or multiple entries.

Fees include: Access to some past papers and answer keys as downloadable soft copies.

Registration through G.O.A. is open only for students in India or Indian students with a valid Indian address.

Students who get Gold/Silver/Bronze honours may then apply for AMO Finals held in a different country by paying an additional registration fee.  Please treat AMO Finals as a separate competition as it might require travel and even if held online, the registration fees is much higher.

How to Prepare for the Olympiad

  • You will receive some past papers access with answer keys on registration for many Olympiads.  This will be assigned as a course to you under the “My Courses” section of this website when you login to you account.
  • You may also join our Online Training available if you are from Grade 1 to 8 (Explore our training page).
  • You may explore our e-books section also.
  • You may also explore the other competitions and their sample papers for more practice.

    • KID BEE(Pri 1-3) : 8-10 questions (Short Answer), 100 marks
    • KID BEE (Open)(P4-5) : 10-12 questions (Short Answer), 100 marks
    • SENIOR(P6) : 10 – 12 questions (Short Answer), 100 marks
    • SENIOR (OPEN) – 12 questions (Short Answer), 100 marks

      • G1 – G3 corresponds to KidBee
      • Grade 4 – 5 Corresponds to KidBee Open (GSS)
      • Grade 6 Corresponds to Senior
      • Grade 7-8 Corresponds to Senior (Open)
      • This means that Grades 1-5 will take the same paper but the grading will be based on Grades 1-3 as one category and Grades 4-5 as a separate category
      • Grades 6-8 will take the same paper but the grading for Grade 6 and Grades 7-8 will be different
      • *** You will get access to some more past papers on registration for this competition and other similar competitions if available***
      • Medals and /or trophies (for winners) and certificates for all. No separate fees for Finals
