TIMO
Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad
2024-25
ABOUT TIMO
Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) is an annual Mathematical Olympiad competition organised by Olympiad Champion Education Center (OCEC) and the Thailand Mathematics Society. As the majority of Mathematical Olympiad competitions are only focusing on 0.1% of the elite students, TIMO provides an opportunity for ALL students with strong interests in Mathematics to participate in Mathematical Olympiad competition.
What makes TIMO special is that after the competition, TIMO will release the general statistics of students’ performance which shows the strength and weaknesses of the candidates on the following topics such as Logical Thinking, Arithmetic / Algebra, Number Theory, Geometry and Combinatorics. Students can then apply the analytics on their individual learning strategy.
TIMO Heats is conducted at country level to identify Mathematical talent who can then participate in TIMO Finals in Thailand subject to qualifying and registering. TIMO and HKIMO Finals gold award winners (need to win Gold medals in both finals) are then eligible for WIMO (World International Mathematical Olympiad) along with a free Olympiad training workshop.
TIMO integrates both competition and tour. Our coaches, administrators, and staff stand out for their commitment to academic excellence, entrepreneurial spirit, diversity, vibrancy, and creative innovation. Our team offers not only a healthy competition with contestants from all over the world, but also a 5-star tour service from Friday trip. The cities where we teach and do research are not just backdrops – they are also our classrooms, stages and laboratories.
With a world-class faculty that sets a global standard for academic excellence, the largest number of international students among Asia, and the largest number of students studying abroad, TIMO is among the most respected and desirable competitions in the world.
Different from other Mathematical Olympiad competition, every candidate will have his / her own evaluation report that will show the strength and the weakness of the candidate on topics such as Logical Thinking, Algebra, Number Theory, Geometry and Combinatorics. They can develop their own learning strategy in the future.
We welcome you to participate in the endless opportunities in TIMO, bringing together Mathematically talented children who have been drawn from all over the world to be taught, perform, create, and study in a place where everyone belongs.
