ABOUT MMC

In this 21st century, the need for talent in Artificial Intelligence is increasing rapidly. World STEM Association, Hong Kong Mathematical Olympiad Association, and Asia International Mathematical Olympiad Union co-organize Mathematics Master Cup (MMC). It mainly trains students’ logical thinking, programming, engineering Mathematics, and problem analysis. Different from traditional Mathematical training, Artificial Intelligence Mathematics equips students with knowledge and new vision fulfilling this new generation.

COMPETITION DETAILS

FOR

Grade 1 to Grade 9 (as of the academic year 2024-25)

WHERE

  • Online from home (not from an examination Centre) – Trial Round.
  • Hong Kong (Pen and Paper Mode) – World Competition Round.

WHEN

  • Trial Round : May 10-11, 2025
  • World Competition Round (Global Finals): End of August 2025 (Exact dates To be Announced Later)

Registrations are Open Now (country level round). Online Registrations Only.

Last Date of Registration: April 27, 2025 (Trail Round) and For World Competition Round Will be announced later to eligible students by email..

Fees: INR 2000 per participant for Trail round (Country level round)

Fees include: Access to some past papers and answer keys as downloadable soft copies. For more resources details are given below.

Online exam login credentials, schedule and exam instructions will be provided by email after registrations close one week before the exam.

Play-in Round (Online Preliminary Round)  –  Not happening in the first year for India as very short notice.  Usually to be held in October-November every year.  Qualifier round for MMC Trial round participation.  Play-in Round will be conducted from Next Year.   Fees: To be announced Next Year as this year there is no Play-in Round for India.

Trial Round (Regional /Country/National Round held Online):  This year direct entry but from Next Year One needs to get 50% and above in Play-in Round.  Top 15%, next 25%, and next 30% of the students of Trial Round will get gold, silver, and bronze awards respectively. Students with awards can register for Global Finals.

World Competition Round (Global Finals): Top 70% students of Trials Round (Till Bronze award winners) can apply for this round.  This will be a pen and paper round and will be held in Hong Kong around the end of August 2024.   Top 15%, next 25%, and next 30% of the students of Trial Round will get gold, silver, and bronze awards respectively. Fees:  INR 11000.  Only includes competition registration fees.  Registered participants need to make their own travel and stay arrangements in Hong Kong during this round of the competition if they register for participating.

Registration for finals has to be done separately by qualifying students from MMC Trail round. Please note that MMC finals will take place in Hong Kong.

Registration through G.O.A. is open only for students from India.

How to Prepare for the Olympiad

  • You will receive some past papers access with answer keys on registration.

  • Total Marks : 100
  • No. of questions – 12
  • Part A : 5 Questions total 50 marks
  • Part B : 3 Questions total 20 marks
  • Part C : 2 Questions total 15 marks
  • Part D : 2 Questions total 15 marks

  • No. of questions – 15
  • Part A : 6 Questions total 40 marks
  • Part B : 3 Questions total 25 marks
  • Part C : 3 Questions total 20 marks
  • Part D : 3 Questions total 20 marks

Hong Kong Mathematical Olympiad (hereinafter referred to as “HKMO”)
As an educational institution, the Hong Kong Mathematical Olympiad (HKMO) has been committed to improving the mathematics level of Hong Kong students for many years since its establishment in 2004, promoting Mathematical Olympiad training and exchanges among students from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao. It organizes and co-organizes a number of large-scale competitions every year, including the famous ” China Cup”, “Hong Kong and Macau Cup”, etc., has created many firsts, such as coordinating the most large-scale Mathematical Olympiad competitions, holding the most age group Mathematical Olympiad competitions, leading the most Hong Kong and Macao students and parents to participate in overseas Mathematical Olympiad competitions, etc., and has won praise and recognition from all walks of life. The Hong Kong Mathematical Olympiad Association joined the Asian International Mathematical Olympiad (AIMO) in 2011 and became one of the member regions, including various provinces in China, Chinese Taipei, Macau, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and other places, and held the first session Asian International Mathematical Olympiad Open. The association also established a directly affiliated organization in 2012, the Hong Kong Mathematical Olympiad Association Charity Foundation.

  1. Promote STEM issues that are beneficial to students and strive to improve the cognitive level of Hong Kong students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics;
  2. Provide learning frameworks for STEM courses at different grades;

ONLINE TRAINING

Global Olympiads Academy brings a Math Enrichment program for younger kids (grade 1 to grade 8) for International Olympiads (AMC, AIMO, TIMO, WMI, HKIMO, SEAMO,PIMSO,AMC 8, Gauss, etc.)  The program will help the students strengthen their fundamentals, application and problem-solving skills and their overall higher order thinking skills like logical and analytical thinking.  This course with Global standards (inspired by Common Core, Singapore Math and Indian NCERT curriculum) will not help students overcome fear with Math but would inculcate ownership, rigour and perseverance and most importantly liking for the Math. This will help them improve their academic performance in school and definitely in any competitive exam and lay a strong foundation for preparation of entrance exams in future.
