About Turkic Olympiad

The Turkish Mathematical Competition (TMY) has been held since 2019, and from this year onwards, it has gained an international character, being renamed as the Turkic World International Mathematical Olympiad. This Olympiad carries a broad and comprehensive mission aimed at bringing young generations together. By creating a platform based on mathematical and scientific excellence, the initiative aims to unite young people from different cultures, promoting their intellectual development, cultural exchange, and mathematical skills. It’s vision reflects a commitment to excellence in education and international cooperation. The organization aims to achieve these objectives by developing creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.

Turkic Olympiad strives to contribute to the academic and personal development of young people at both local and international levels while also encouraging discussions on mathematical and scientific topics among youth, facilitating the exchange of new ideas, and uniting people with common interests. With its annual Olympiads, Turkic Olympiad aims to set new educational standards and provide an environment where young individuals from around the world can compete, thereby fostering understanding and respect among various cultures. These efforts will contribute to the development of education and science on an international scale, creating positive changes in the lives of young people.

Additionally, Turkic Olympiad aims to create opportunities for students to enhance their academic performance through collaboration with renowned universities. This collaboration will provide students with strong academic support and assist them in succeeding in university life. Thus, It will continue to contribute to the academic and personal development of young people on both local and international levels, helping to advance education and science globally and bringing about positive changes in the lives of young individuals.

FOR

Grade 3 – Grade 12 (Current academic Year of 2024-25)

WHERE

Online from Home (Remotely proctored on webcam).

WHEN

Competition Date: 14-15 December, 2024 (Preliminary Round)
15-20 April, 2025 (Global Round)

Last Date of Registration for Heats (Country level round):  November 17, 2024.

Fees: INR 2000 per participant (student). Discounts available on multiple competitions or multiple entries.

Fees include: Access to some past papers and answer keys as downloadable soft copies.

Online exam login credentials, schedule and exam instructions will be provided by email after registrations close one week before the exam.

Registration for Heats round (Country level round) through G.O.A. is open only for students from India.

How to Prepare for the Olympiad

  • You will receive some past papers access with answer keys on registration for Olympiad.

  • 9 groups in total (Category 1 to Category 9)
  • Category 1 – Category 8 corresponds to grade 3 to grade 10 respectively
  • Category 9 corresponds to grade 11 and 12 respectively

Contest Time

  • For Grade 3 & 4 – 60 minutes
  • From Grade 5 to 12 – 90 minutes

Exam Question Format

    • For Grade 3 to 4: 20 Questions
    • From Grade 5 to 12: 25 Questions
    • All questions will be multiple choice

Language: In English

Contest will held online

  • 9 groups in total (Category 1 to Category 9)
  • Category 1 – Category 8 corresponds to grade 3 to grade 10 respectively
  • Category 9 corresponds to grade 11 and 12 respectively

Contest Time

  • For Grade 3 & 4 – 60 minutes
  • From Grade 5 to 12 – 90 minutes

Exam Question Format

    • For Grade 3 to 4: 20 Questions
    • From Grade 5 to 12: 25 Questions
    • All questions will be multiple choice

    Scoring System

      • Each correct answer is awarded 4 points
      • Each incorrect answer results in deduction of 1 point
      • No points are awarded or deducted for unanswered questions

    Language: In English or Russian

Turkic Olympiad

  • Gold Certificate: Top 5%
  • Silver Certificate: Top 10%
  • Bronze Certificate: Top 15%
  • Merit Certificate: Top 40%

The above award slabs are indicative and typically will be on percentile basis.  The awards are also country wise and later the Global ranking is also shared.

  • Of the 800 Students participating in the selection round, the 1 best result gets a 100% discount on the global round
  • Of the 1500 Students participating in the selection round, the 2 best result gets a 100% discount on the global round
  • Of the 2500 Students participating in the selection round, the 3 best result gets a 100% discount on the global round
  • Of the 3500 Students participating in the selection round, the 4 best result gets a 100% discount on the global round
  • Of the 5000 Students participating in the selection round, the 5 best result gets a 100% discount on the global round

  • Gold Certificate: Top 8%
  • Silver Certificate: Top 15%
  • Bronze Certificate: Top 30%
  • Merit Certificate: Top 50%

Announcement of the Winning Country by Country

  • Gold Medal: 5 points
  • Silver Medal: 4 points
  • Bronze Medal: 3 points
  • Merit Certificate: 2 points
  • Participations: 1 point

Grade 11-12 participants will be able to get a scholarship of 100, 75, 50, 25 percent. In addition, they can be admitted to universities without exams and with discounts.

ONLINE TRAINING

Global Olympiads Academy brings a Math Enrichment program for younger kids (grade 1 to grade 8) for International Olympiads (AMC, AIMO, TIMO, WMI, HKIMO, SEAMO,PIMSO,AMC 8, Gauss, etc.)  The program will help the students strengthen their fundamentals, application and problem-solving skills and their overall higher order thinking skills like logical and analytical thinking.  This course with Global standards (inspired by Common Core, Singapore Math and Indian NCERT curriculum) will not help students overcome fear with Math but would inculcate ownership, rigour and perseverance and most importantly liking for the Math.
